Aasim Akhtar
Pakistan

My work during the workshop comprising of colour slides and black and white images sets to investigate the dialectics of time and space the isolated coastline of Gadani has lent to itself. The silent mark of time etched on its immaculate dunes and the winds of change, that caused the shift, have been the focus of my exploration. Between the calm of the fishing community and the cacophony of the ship breaking industry lie miles of abysmal gulfs bridged only by the ocean and the horizon that remain a constant.
My works sets to reestablish the invisible relationship between the two by looking at parallels that conspire to inaugurate the beginning of an end.
