Haya Sehgal was born and brought up in Karachi, Pakistan where she gained the basic knowledge of painting through her formative years in high school. It was formalized when she pursued her studies at the Maryland Institute, College of Art and Design (1995-1999) in the United States where she mastered the principles of art-making on a computer via Graphic Designing as her major.
After graduation, she worked in New York in the creative sector of an advertising agency for several years. She has recently returned to Karachi, where she currently resides and runs her own business.
