My work explores the constancy of violence that lives only slightly below the surface of a very thin membrane. The residual and at times impenetrable nature of memories or past experiences is something I attempt to convey.

In using paint or collage, I try exploring how it interacts with other materials- be it a complimentary or resistant addition. I consider this curiosity to be both primal and private.

I see my work as personal; drawing from disparate sources of cultural, racial and gendered identity. However, I do not seek to define territories that demarcate one locale from the next. Rather, I am interested in the complex, dynamic, and volatile spaces that exists in between the borders. In this space, contrasting versions of femininity, social inconsistencies, and cultural conditioning co-exist.
