Vasl is in the process of re-registering under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984. Vasl was registered in 2001 as the Vasl Art Trust, a 'Not for Profit' space. It was renamed the Vasl Artists' Collective in 2009. Vasl provides an international platform to Pakistani artists and to contemporary art in Pakistan, and is committed to creating a space for experimentation and exchange. Vasl is part of the Triangle Arts Network and for the last 15 years its ongoing activities have included international workshops, local and international residencies, educational outreach programs, talks and other events. Works of over 200 contemporary Pakistani artists are available on the Artists Database on the Vasl website.
The IVS Printmaking Studio is calling for applications to participate in an Artist Development Workshop focusing on Fine Line Etching and Aquatint. The workshop will be conducted by internationally recognized artists, Damon Kowarsky and Hyunju Kim and is being coordinated by Nurayah Sheikh Nabi.
